AMD announced it’s new gaming processor. The company has entered E3 with a surprising, strong announcement. AMD going to take the first 16-core gaming processor in the market, known as the AMD Ryzen-9 3950x 16cores.
Although AMD hasn’t revealed all the specs of AMD ryzen 9 3950, we do know some of them. It has 16 cores, 32 threads, and 4.5Ghz boost speed, and 3.5 base clock. And taking revolution by introducing 72Mbs caches with just 105W of power.
This is the 3rd generation of the ryzen 9 models. And in this gen. they came with the hell of powerful changes. The 3950X is the latest entry in the new series of Ryzen 3000 chips, which is totally based on the redesigned 7nm Zen 2 architecture.
Efficiency has always been AMD’s largest hurdle, but the 3950X increases clock speeds and core counts without increasing power as compare to the 2nd-gen Ryzen 7. However, Ryzen 9’s main competitor, the Intel Core i9-9900K, still hits faster clock speeds at a lower 95-watt TDP.
But I would say, ryzen has no competitor yet because Intel has more clock or base speed then ryzen but caches memory and 16 cores can make a huge impact.
Intel’s top gaming processor has 8 cores and it fits at heavy motherboard but on the other hand, AMD ryzen 9 3950 fits into an AM4 motherboard, which is neither too much heavy nor Expensive.
AMD didn’t provide an exact release date for the AMD Ryzen-9 3950x 16cores gaming processor, but it’s currently scheduled to launch sometime in September 2019 and the price has not been announced yet.
